概要:
Conical roof shells which have a joint of a conical roof and an attached cylinder are utilized as oil storage tanks or some containment vessels. It is known that conical roof shells and torispherical shells subjected to static internal pressure buckle with circumferential waves caused by bifurcation buckling. We reported the dynamic analysis for bifurcation buckling of torispherical shell under dynamic internal pressure in an accident condition. In case of torispherical shells, dynamic pressure of bifurcation buckling was lower than the static pressure. It seems that conical roof shells are easier to buckle at the joint than torispherical shells. Even under a short period, overpressure loading due to an accident such as explosion may cause bifurcation buckling of the shell. In case of designing an oil storage tank, high pressure capability to bifurcation buckling is not necessarily safe for explosion accident. Therefore, it is important to obtain the bifurcation buckling load from the dynamic analysis in designing conical roof shells. In the present paper, we calculate the bifurcation buckling pressure for dynamic pressure of accident condition , that is, step pressure loading, ramp pressure loadings and pulse pressure loadings. The minimum bifurcation buckling pressure of each kind of conical roof shells is related to radius to thickness ratio R/h of the shell in linear fashion on logarithmic scale.
