概要:
抄録:
This paper discusses the contribution of building height towards the thermal climate in urban canyon. The investigation is carried out by using a three-dimensional numerical model ENVI-met. Model calculations are run for a typical summer day in the city center area of Dhaka, Bangladesh located in the tropical climate zone. The thermal climate of the urban canyons with different H/W ratios of this area is evaluated based on air temperature Ta and mean radiant temperature Tmrt with an emphasis on the pedestrian ways. Again these canyons have been investigated after increasing building height. All the investigations are made during daytime hours. The results show that in case of shallow canyon, the effects of increasing building height is more advantageous to that of deeper canyon for the daytime thermal climate in respect of Ta. However, mean radiant temperature Tmrt on the pedestrian way is found to be 30 degree to 40 degree higher than Ta for sunny condition, while for shaded condition the difference is minimal. Finally, considerable decreases in Tmrt are found in the canyons after increasing building height especially when shading performs.
