This study proposes a novel depth detecting method based on the 3-dimensional point-source constrained partial differential equation. Elastodynamic response of orthotropic laminate composite structures subjected to an incident wave front is evaluated based on the integral representations in terms of Green’s function. Several acoustic and numerical experiments show accuracy and applicability of the proposed approach in the cross-ply CFRP plate.
