This study has been focused on Buildings, Land use and road facilities of the area around subway station in Fukuoka city. These elements are representative of the characteristics of its environment. The study procedure has 2 steps, first is urban configuration analysis. This method has analyzed the data between floor and land cover to figure out the urban density intensity in square meter units and also analyzed the ratio between road facility areas and land coverage to investigate the road facility density pattern of each station area. The second step was statistical analysis, Principal component analysis(PCA) has been applied for factor analysis to investigate the principal component then a cluster analysis tool is used to classify a group of data by its correlation. The results were referred to urban characteristics of each group. The results can be defined into 5 groups of Fukuoka city urban characteristics as The central Business District, The business District, The public facility and administration, The compact district and The suburban areas.抄録:英語フィールド
