We take notice of a powder injection that it might be possible to solve problems of a conventional injector. The powder injection is one of the needle-free injections and delivers a drug to the body by blowing off powder particle medicines at high speed. In the past study, the powder injector driven by shock tube was designed and manufactured. The aim is to find important parameters such as particle diameter, density and the amount of particle which enable penetration of the fine drug particle to the simulated skin in order to precisely deliver drug particles into human skin. Therefore, it is necessary to exactly measure the high-speed gas-solid two-phase flow that happens in the extreme small space. In this study, velocity measurement of flying powder particles and penetration tests to PVA hydrogel were carried out using the powder injector.
